Facebook ads perform when creative, signals and measurement work together

Meta's algorithm learns fast, but only when it gets enough genuinely different creative and a clear definition of what a valuable result looks like.

Instagram ads made for Reels and Stories

Instagram needs vertical video with a hook in the first second. We test hooks, angles and formats on purpose, so each new ad answers a question.

Paid social works best as part of a connected stack

Placements, conversion signals and the revenue that follows need to connect. We work with the tools around Meta so campaign decisions rest on more than platform reporting.

Testing loopTesting loop

How our Facebook ads management learns before it scales

The loop is simple: define the commercial signal, build focused creative ideas, launch enough variety to learn, then move budget and production to what the data backs.

  1. We map your offer, customer economics, conversion events, existing winners and where Meta is missing a reliable signal.

  2. Hooks, angles, formats and proof become a test matrix, so every new ad has a reason to exist.

  3. We launch with a controlled campaign structure, clean tracking and enough creative range to spot patterns instead of overreacting to one ad.

  4. Winning concepts get budget and new versions. Tired ideas are retired, and the next batch of creative is shaped by what the account has just learned.

Measure beyond Ads Manager

Platform ROAS is one view. We compare it with analytics, CRM or shop data so scaling decisions reflect the business, not one attribution window.

Brands that can keep creative fresh

Meta rewards a steady rhythm of new creative. The best fit is a team happy to produce new versions rather than expecting one winner to run for ever.

FAQFAQ

Facebook and Instagram ads: common questions

What businesses usually ask us before we launch, rebuild or take over a Meta Ads account.

Facebook ads management covers everything needed to run profitable campaigns in Meta Ads Manager: planning campaigns and audiences, producing and testing creative, setting up the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, managing budgets, and reviewing results every week. Because Meta Ads runs across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Meta's partner network, management also means choosing formats and placements that suit each one.

Usually both, from the same Meta Ads account. We let placement data show where your ads perform, and make sure the creative works in each format: feed posts, Stories and Reels. Instagram tends to suit visual products and vertical video, while Facebook often reaches a broader age range. Splitting them into separate campaigns rarely helps unless the data gives a clear reason.

Ads can start delivering as soon as they are approved, but reliable decisions need enough spend and conversions to separate a real pattern from normal ups and downs. New campaigns also go through a learning phase. We judge each creative test against how much data it has had, and most accounts show clear winners and losers within the first few weeks.

You decide the spend: set a daily or lifetime budget in pounds and Meta spends it in an auction. What that budget buys, in cost per thousand impressions and cost per click, depends on your audience, the competition, the time of year and how well your ads hold attention. If an agency manages the account, its fee comes on top. Our Facebook ads management is a fixed monthly fee, not a percentage of spend, and we suggest a starting budget after the first call.

Instagram ads are built in Meta Ads Manager, the same tool used for Facebook, once your Instagram professional account is linked to your Meta business portfolio. You then choose an objective, audience, budget and placements such as Feed, Stories, Reels and Explore. You can also promote a post straight from the Instagram app, but you get far fewer objectives, less control over targeting and weaker measurement than in Ads Manager.

Boosting is the quickest way to put a post in front of more people, but it gives you little control. Boosted posts usually optimise for reach or engagement rather than sales or leads. Ads Manager lets you choose a conversion objective, test several ads against each other, exclude existing customers and see what each ad actually returns. For sales and enquiries, a proper campaign in Ads Manager is almost always the better choice.

They do different jobs. Google Ads reaches people already searching for what you sell, while Meta puts your offer in front of people who haven't started looking, based on interests, behaviour and similarity to your customers. If there's clear search demand, we often start on Google. If your product is visual or new to the market, Meta is usually the better first step. Many UK businesses end up running both.

There's no magic number. You need enough variety to test genuinely different hooks, angles and formats without creating noise. We'd rather launch six deliberate concepts than twenty near-identical ads with different colours. As the account grows, we add new concepts on a steady rhythm so the winners don't wear out before replacements are ready.

Creative that looks native to Instagram. That usually means vertical 9:16 video for Reels and Stories, a hook in the first second, captions for people watching without sound, and real people or products in use rather than polished brand films. Instagram ads run from the same Meta Ads account as Facebook, so we test them side by side and let the results decide the split.

Yes. We can own the testing plan and performance feedback while your team produces the assets, or take on more of the creative ourselves together with external creators. What matters is a clear loop from idea to result to the next version, with briefs based on what the data shows rather than on guesswork.

It depends on the offer, but vertical 9:16 video for Reels and Stories and 4:5 images or video for the feed are sensible starting points. Carousels work well for showing several products or the steps of a service. We make creative for each placement rather than cropping one image to fit everywhere, then let the test results decide which formats earn more of the budget.

Usually because of creative fatigue: the same people have seen the same ad too often and stopped responding. You'll see it as rising frequency, a falling click-through rate and a higher cost per result. The fix is rarely a new audience. It's a steady supply of new angles, hooks and formats, which is why we plan the next batch of creative before the current winners wear out.

For most businesses it's worth setting up or checking. The Conversions API sends events from your server as well as the browser, which makes the signal Meta optimises on more resilient. It needs correct deduplication, event definitions and consent handling to be useful, and it doesn't replace clean analytics. Under UK rules, advertising tracking still has to respect the visitor's cookie choice.

It's useful, but it is one platform's view of the credit. We compare it with Google Analytics, your shop or CRM data and look at blended figures such as total revenue against total marketing spend. That way scaling decisions aren't based on one platform claiming every sale, and you can see whether Meta is really adding new customers.

You do. We work in a Meta business portfolio, ad account, Pixel and Page that belong to your business, with your team keeping admin access. Account structure, audiences and key tracking decisions are documented, so the setup stays portable and you keep the full history if you ever move to another agency or bring the work in-house.

The Meta Pixel is a piece of code on your website that reports events such as page views, leads and purchases back to Meta. Without it, Meta can't optimise for the results you care about, and you can't build retargeting audiences from your visitors. It's usually paired with the Conversions API so the signal holds up when browsers block tracking, and under UK rules it should only fire once the visitor has consented to advertising cookies.

A Facebook ads agency plans your campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, produces or directs the creative, sets up tracking and moves budget towards what's working. With us, every campaign follows a test plan in which each ad has to answer a specific question, and results are judged on sales and leads, not likes.
