To get found on Google, your website needs to be easy for Google to understand and useful for the people searching. That's what SEO does. We start with what you sell, who buys it and which searches lead to enquiries.
A long list of errors helps nobody. We check how Google finds your pages, what they say and how they link together. Then you get a prioritised plan.

SEO (search engine optimisation) is the work of making your website easy for Google to find, understand and show when people search for what you offer. It covers how the site is built, what your pages say and how other websites link to you. Unlike ads, you don't pay per click, but it takes time and steady effort. To rank higher on Google you need three things: pages that answer the searches your customers actually make, a site Google can crawl and index without problems, and other websites that link to or mention you. Start with your most important services: one clear page each, a descriptive title and content that answers real customer questions. Be wary of anyone who guarantees a position.
Not to show up at all. A free Google Business Profile can appear in Google Maps and the local results without a website. But to show up in the main results for the services you sell, you need a website with a page for each of them. A website also gives customers more reasons to choose you and an easy way to get in touch.
Quite a lot. Set up Google Search Console, which is free, to see which searches you already appear for. Give each important page a title that says exactly what you offer and where. Explain what each service includes and who it is for. Keep your Google Business Profile up to date and ask happy customers for reviews, which Google says can help your local ranking.
Appearing in Google's organic results is free; what you pay for is the work that gets you there. The cost depends on your starting point, how much the website needs, how competitive your market is and whether we make the changes or your team does. After a first call you get a proposal with scope and price before anything starts.
Start with three things. Make sure Google can find and index your website, which you can check for free in Google Search Console. Give every main service its own clear page that answers customers' questions. And if you serve a local area, set up and complete a free Google Business Profile so you can appear on Google Maps.
The site may be new and not yet discovered, or a technical setting such as a noindex tag may be blocking it. If it is indexed but ranks low, the content may not match what people search for, or competitors may simply be stronger. Google Search Console shows which of these is the problem, and that decides the fix.
No. Appearing in Google's organic results and on Google Maps is free, and you can't pay Google for a better organic ranking. Google Ads is a separate, paid channel that places ads above or below the results. SEO costs time or agency fees instead, but you don't pay for each click.
It depends on your starting point, your competition and how much work the site needs. Fixing an indexing problem can show results within weeks, while ranking for competitive searches usually takes several months of steady work. After reviewing your site we'll give you realistic expectations rather than a promised position or date.
Create and verify a free Google Business Profile, choose the right primary category, add your services, opening hours and real photos, and collect genuine reviews. Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, so a complete, accurate profile backed by a clear website gives you the best chance.
Partly. SEO is about how your website is found and shown in Google's results. AI visibility is about whether ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews mention or cite your business. Google says its AI features rely on the same SEO fundamentals, so clear, reliable content helps with both, but AI mentions need to be tracked separately.
The most reliable way is Google Search Console, which shows the searches, clicks and indexed pages for your site. Googling yourself only gives a rough picture, because results vary by location and search history. Try a private browser window and check Google Maps as well. Want a second opinion? Start with a free SEO audit.
They solve different problems. Google Ads can put you at the top of the results this week, but the visibility stops the day you stop paying. SEO takes months, but it builds visibility that keeps working without a cost per click. Many small businesses run ads to bring in enquiries while SEO grows. Read more about Google Ads.
Yes, the groundwork is the same. Google says there are no special requirements for AI Overviews or AI Mode: a page needs to be indexed and eligible to show a snippet, so standard SEO practice applies. ChatGPT and other assistants work differently and don't simply copy Google's rankings, so check those separately with our free AI visibility check.
Google Business Profile is Google's free business listing, formerly called Google My Business. It shows your address or service area, opening hours, phone number, photos and reviews in Google Maps and the local results. For a business with local customers, it is often the first thing people see, before they ever visit your website. Read more about local SEO and Google Maps.
Sign in to Google Business Profile with a Google account and add your business name, category, address or service area and contact details. Google then asks you to verify that you run the business, and it decides which verification method you get. Next, add your services, opening hours and real photos, and keep your name, address and phone number identical to your website.
Yes. Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking, and reviews help customers choose. Ask happy customers in a natural way and reply to every review, including the critical ones. Don't buy reviews or reward people for positive ones: that breaks Google's rules, and fake reviews have been banned in the UK since April 2025 under the DMCC Act.
