What a Google Ads consultant does
A Google Ads consultant works on your account alongside your team instead of taking it over. We look at what the account is really paying for, find the spend that doesn't bring in customers, and help your people fix it and keep it fixed.
Tracking you can trust
Checking that conversion tracking counts real enquiries and sales, not page views or duplicate form submissions.
Search terms you actually pay for
Reading the search terms report to see which searches you actually paid for, and adding negative keywords where money leaks.
Bidding aimed at the right goal
Reviewing bid strategies and targets, so automated bidding works towards the conversions that matter to your business.
The page after the click
Looking at the page after the click. When the search, the ad and the landing page say different things, you lose leads no bid setting can win back.
Advice your team can act on
Explaining every recommendation, so whoever runs the account day to day knows why it matters and can make the next call on their own.
Consultant or agency: which do you need?
The difference is who does the daily work. With a consultant, your own team or freelancer keeps their hands on the account, and we bring the audit, the priorities and an outside view every month. With an agency, we build and run the campaigns for you.

| Consultant | Agency | |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the daily work | Your team or freelancer | We do |
| What we bring | The audit, the priorities and a monthly review | Campaign build and ongoing management |
| Know-how | Stays with your team | Sits mostly with us |
| Suits you when | Someone in-house has a few hours a week for the account | Nobody has that time, or the account needs a rebuild |
| Account ownership | In your company's name | In your company's name |
Plenty of clients start with consulting and hand over more later. If you'd rather we ran it, see our Google Ads agency service.
How we work (audit → fixes → monthly advice)
Every engagement follows the same three steps, in this order. Tracking comes first because every later decision depends on it.
Audit
We start with read-only access and go through tracking, account structure, search terms, negative keywords, bidding and landing pages. You get the findings sorted by what they're worth and how much work they take.
You getA findings list sorted by value and effort
Fixes
We agree what to fix first. Depending on how you work, we make the changes ourselves or take your team through them step by step, so the knowledge stays in-house.
You getFixes made, or walked through with your team
Monthly advice
Then we meet once a month. We go through what changed, what the data shows now and what to do next, and we write the decisions down so they are easy to follow up.
You getWritten decisions after every meeting
What it costs and how we price it
There are two costs. Your ad spend goes straight to Google, and our fee covers the consulting. We don't publish a standard price, because the work depends on the size of the account, how much needs fixing and how involved you want us to be.
The first review is free: our ad audit shows where budget leaks and what we'd do first. If consulting makes sense after that, we propose a scope and a fixed monthly fee. The fee isn't a percentage of your ad spend, so it doesn't grow when your budget does.
- Fixed monthly fee, not a percentage of ad spend
- Scope and fee agreed before work starts
- Your ad spend is billed by Google, not by us
When a consultant is not the right fit
Consulting only works if someone acts on the advice. It's usually the wrong setup when:
- Nobody in your team has a few hours a week for the account. Advice that sits in a document won't change your results.
- The account needs a full rebuild, which goes faster when one team does the whole job.
- You're running a short, one-off campaign with no time for a monthly cycle.
- The budget is too small to produce enough clicks and conversions to learn from. Work on the website or SEO may pay off sooner.
If any of these apply, we'll say so in the review and suggest what would suit you better.
